Buxted were trying to play a game unsuited to the conditions and
made few real chances for themselves. Mike Tampin Made then
Missed a first half penalty with the Fairfield keeper making a
comfortable save.
Heads might have gone down but for the arrival
of Gavin Horne who enabled Ricky Parish to push forward and the
visitors started to buckle. Eventually Andy McPhail latched on
to a loose ball and looped it home through a crowd of players.
Then a pinpoint corner from Dean Morris was emphatically headed home
by Ricky Parish. Still relying on the direct approach
Fairfield scored a third and almost another, saved only by an
outstanding stop by keeper Clive White.
In a replica goal a whipped in Morris cross was
headed home by Parish to level the game and an Andy McPhail drive
was cleared off the line just before the whistle went. during
the half Gavin Horne spared his own blushes with a dash back to
clear what would have been an own goal. all in all an
interesting afternoon.
Man of the match went to Ricky Parish, Just
edging out Dean Morris and his left foot.
Man of the Month for April is Dean Morris.
