On a badly cut
up playing surface both sides created several scoring opportunities
but it was west Hoathly who took all the points when a draw might
have been a fair result. The visitors defence went missing when the
hosts scored in 5 minutes, and were pressing for an equaliser when a
second was conceded 15 minutes later. Buxted midfielder Scott just
failed with one over the bar, and fed Shane Bills for another good,
but unsuccessful effort. Early in the second period Chris Rees
headed in a fine Lee turner corner, the latter just failing to score
himself from yet another well taken corner. Soon after however,
Buxted keeper Andy Harper was deceived by a flighted ball, allowing
it over his head and into the net off the bar. Buxted continued to
press, but failed to take advantage of the opportunities created
